Personality: This is the most important section. What we would like to see is your character, who they are, what drives them, their likes and dislikes or whatever you feel is necessary to mention Feel free to use a personality section based on their canon counterpart in this section. Or use something that's written based on their AU history. Show us what kind of voice we should be expecting in the samples. This section shouldn't be too short so aim to have at least 3 paragraphs.
AU History: Try to keep this section under 2000 words. What we want to see is your character's life before they signed onto Sword Art Online. The Offline world is a normal, modern place so your character will have been born human. It's recommended that you try and mirror your character's canon life, but if the lack of certain things in the modern world makes that difficult, then it's okay to take some creative liberties to match the setting.
Samples
First Person: Action and or a text message is fine. We want to hear your character's voice here so try to focus on that specifically. There should be at least 5 to 8 IC sentences. And, if you're able to, it's fine to link a previous thread you had with the character in a previous game/musebox/meme thread/etc. A linked thread should have at least 10 comments from your character.
Third Person: For this section, we would like to see your character's thoughts and feelings towards SAO. Upon learning that if they die in the game, then they will also die in real life. What kind of effect does this have on them? What are they going to do with their life in Aincrad now? Basically, we just want some insight into your character's view of the situation. If this isn't your first time applying and you're already a member of the game, then this section becomes optional.
